2026 Tuffy Awards: A Diary
Nominated for Member of the Year and Best Social Media Presence, and what the role behind the captions has given me.

Being part of the 2026 Tuffy Awards was a chance to slow down and appreciate what this role has given me. As Communications Director, I spend most of my time behind the scenes writing captions, building photo collages and trying to capture the moments that show who we are as a club. Bringing storytelling and journalism into every little caption and every little photo collage is my way of making that impact personal.
The night
The Tuffy Awards are Student Life and Leadership’s evening for the student leaders and organizations across Cal State Fullerton, held this year at the TSU. Rotaract CSUF went as a team, and we spent the night alongside @csuf.hopefull and its President, Andon (@andonaraque). Sharing the space with another service-driven club made the night feel even more meaningful.
I was nominated twice: for Member of the Year, and for Best Social Media Presence on behalf of Rotaract CSUF.

Behind the captions
Rotaract CSUF started with four members. Since then, how the club shows up online has been my job: the captions, the collages, the flyers and the reels.
What I’m most grateful for is the work that fills those stories. Like our time with @radiant_futures, supporting their events and learning from the strength of the community they serve. Our work with @pathwaysofhopeoc, showing up for families who need it most. The service days, the small wins, the people who make this club feel steady and genuine.

Taking stock
Being nominated for Member of the Year and for Best Social Media Presence in this year’s Tuffy Awards wasn’t about recognition. It was simply a reminder of how much I’ve grown through this role and how grateful I am for the opportunities we’ve had to build others up, create and to tell a story that actually matters.
“We didn’t take home the award, but the work we get to do is the real privilege.”
